– STRI showed differentiation of hematopoietic stem cell from nEPS.
– STRI has studied the differentiation of NKT cell, T-cell, B-cell from hematopoietic stem cell, and anti-cancer study through modification of the immune system.
The immune system is one of our key defenses against cancer. Cancer cells have distinct features on their surface that allow immune cells to find and eliminate them. But they also have ways of hiding from the immune system so that they can grow and spread.
Researchers have discovered that there are ways to stimulate the immune system to overcome cancer’s clever tricks and eliminate cancer cells, an approach to treatment called immune therapy.
The T cell can eliminate infections, such as a virus or bacteria, or unhealthy cells, such as cancer cells. The T cell looks for an antigen, a feature on the invader or harmful cell that acts like a signal and lets T cells know that its carrier does not belong to the body.
Now a days, we have tried to differentiate nEPStohematopoietic stem cell, and next step to T-cell, B-cell,and NK cell for elimination of cancer cells.
CD 34 positive cells
Here the nEPS were induced to mesodermal cells and then differentiate into hematopoietic stem cells. Next step, to confirm the successful differentiation of the cells, the CD34 marker, which is a hematopoietic stem cell marker, was stained and the result is as presented.
